{ AIMS OF YOUR APPRENTICESHIP }
The main aim of our apprenticeship programme is to provide our apprentice with the ability to fully develop the skills needed to become a successful formulation scientist and to complete the course with confidence in their abilities that can take them forwards in their career.

We can help you to gain all the knowledge you need for future growth and success within the cosmetics industry. We will fully support you through the programme with our experienced staff to help and guide you alongside our partner education institution who will provide you with the knowledge you need to understand all aspects of working within the laboratory.

We will ensure you are provided with strong knowledge and skills in the area of research and development in a wide range of categories; from colour cosmetics through to skincare and personal care.

We offer a programme of technical training to allow you to be able to develop formulations ranging from colour cosmetics where you will learn how to colour match and create trend leading products, skincare formulations where you will hone your skills in creating innovative textures and be able to identify and utilise active materials across the whole spectrum of claims, to personal care where performance is key. You will have the opportunity to lead projects right from concept through to delivery. This training will be underpinned by in house and external programmes such as SPF product creation, COSHH, REACH, microscopy, organoleptic stability analysis training, regulatory requirements and PIF management just to name a few. As a manufacturer of products for both own brand and leading high-street names, you would have the opportunity to see formulations you have created land in stores and on-line.

After meeting the team, settling into your new environment, and learning more about your apprenticeship programme, you will spend time working alongside the formulation chemists getting to know the day-to-day workings of the laboratory and with your educational institution to gain the knowledge based and technical skills required to carry out your duties as a Laboratory Scientist. We will provide you with all the necessary tools and equipment, uniform, and robust training to make this the apprenticeship of your choice.

{ SCOPE OF YOUR APPRENTICESHIP }
As an apprentice you will work closely with the Formulation Chemists within the development team to formulate new ideas and concepts. You will create concept and development samples, carry out stability testing, create specifications, ensure formulations are up to quality standards and that they are compliant to global cosmetic regulatory requirements.

You will work collaboratively with the wider technical team, regulatory teams and NPD teams and be committed to ensuring open and honest communication. You will provide detailed and accurate feedback on lab development work to the development and implementation team. You will work with raw material suppliers to gain knowledge and insights and to ensure materials are available to meet briefs and deadlines.

You will be able to problem solve and flag any issues that might arise during product development and be able to learn the technologies used to put forward solutions using technical knowledge. You will support successful scale-up in production via manufacturing processes and relevant testing data (microscopy, observations etc.). You will assist with attending production when needed.

General training will be offered to cover key areas:
・Laboratory housekeeping; including cleaning/disinfecting, making up stock solutions, stock checking and raw material handling and storage.
